Are you insured?
Yes, we have full Public Liability Insurance (PLI) of £2Million. We are also a registered company with the Inland Revenue.
Is your equipment PAT tested?
Yes, all of our equipment is PAT tested annually by a qualified electrician. Our equipment also goes through safety checks each month.
Will the DJ dress smartly?
Yes, all of our staff dress smartly, setting up the disco in a polo shirt with our company logo on it, then later changing into a shirt again with our logo, and smart trousers.
How do I place a booking, do you issue written contracts?
When you place a booking with us, we will send you out a booking form along with a copy of our terms and conditions detailing what services will be provided by us and what we need you to do. Once the form is returned to us signed along with the booking deposit your booking is then secure.
Can you send confirmation?
Once we have received your booking form and deposit back we always send out a booking confirmation letter, confirming which date you have booked along with the hours required.
Are you reliable?
Flash Discos is a company specialising in disco services. We are professional and pride ourselves on our customer service, before on and after the disco. Once you have booked us you can be assured your event will be our highest priority, we never double book.
My mate says he can do the disco for £50, why should I book you?
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, £50 may seem like a good value, but you are unlikely to get the reliability and high quality equipment and service a professional disco can provide.
When should I place my booking?
As soon as possible, to ensure you get the date and venue you require you should book everything as early as possible.
The majority of our bookings are placed around 3-4 months in advance, although other events such as weddings are placed over a year in advance.
Do you charge VAT?
No, we do not add VAT to any of our discos, we are registered with the Inland Revenue, but not VAT registered.
How much do you charge?
Each event is different, for us to provide a quote, please contact us.
How do I pay?
A 20% non refundable deposit is required back with your booking form and the final amount is due 14 days prior to you event. You can pay by cheque or cash, all cheques must be made payable to Joe Stapleton.
Do you accept and request playlists? What music will you play?
Yes, we welcome requests before and on the night, when you place a booking with us we also send you a request form for you to fill in and tell us about your favourite artists and must play tracks. When choosing music you would like to be played put into consideration music that you listen to at home or in the car may not be right for the dance floor.
What equipment do you have?
All of our equipment is modern and well kept. We update our equipment every 6-8 months to keep our set up fresh. You won’t find any damaged equipment at our discos.
Can we use your microphone(s)?
Yes, feel free to ask us throughout the disco if you require saying a few words. Microphones will not be available for guests who wish to sing along.
What other services do you supply?
As well as providing discos with our professional DJ’s we also provide equipment hire for those who want to do their own disco, contact us for more details.
What is a Lighting Jockey (LJ)?
A lighting jockey is a person who will control the lighting effects throughout the disco, their job is to ensure the right amount of light and effects are safety used throughout the disco. For example for a wedding first dance there will be no heavy strobes.
How long do you need to “Set up’’ and “’Pack up’’?
Depending on which show you decide to choose and depending on the venue, if we have to carry the equipment up ten flights of stairs it will take longer. Set up times for Show 1 is usually 45 Mins-1 Hour, Pack up 30Mins. Show 2 set up time is around 1hour15mins and pack up 45mins.
Will your equipment fit in our venue?
Our set up dimensions vary for each disco show, if you have any concerns please contact us. Our equipment can be placed in different positions.
Can you set up in the afternoon?
Yes, early set up times can be arranged when you make your booking.
How many people will your sound system cope with?
Our current sound system can cope with up to 500 guests. If you’re planning on having a huge party with more guests please contact us and we can arrange something.
